The Briggs
& Stratton Yard Power Products group is restoring
the Allis-Chalmers brand to the lawn and garden industry
with 2 new lawn tractors. Available at Simplicity dealerships
beginning this fall, the new tractors bring back the
glory days of the Allis-Chalmers farm tractor.
Allis-Chalmers first entered the farm equipment business
in 1914 and, over the next 75 years, the company was
responsible for many innovations in the farm equipment
industry. Its distinctive orange tractors became a mainstay
on farms across America and the Allis-Chalmers name
is fondly remembered by many generations. The design
of the new AC130 lawn tractor is reminiscent of these
products, leaning heavily on the familiar orange color
and distinctive Allis-Chalmers logo.
The AC130 model will be available in 2 versions: a 23
HP unit with 42” mowing deck and a 24 HP tractor
with 46” mowing deck. Both lawn tractors will
feature a Briggs & Stratton Extended Life Series
V-Twin engine with spin-on oil filter, advanced debris
management system and full pressure lubrication. Other
product highlights include single pedal foot-controlled
hydrostatic transmission, cruise control, a cast-iron
front axle and a tight 14” turning radius.

Wright Mfg.
Stander Mower
Wright
Manufacturing, the company that invented the stand-on mower, now
offers Stander models with larger decks than the traditional Stander.
Deck widths for the new Stander ZK are 52” and 61”.
With engines up to 37 HP, the Stander ZK can mow at speeds up
to 14 MPH, faster than any mid-mount zero turn.
The Stander ZK is equipped with Wright’s Rapid Height Adjustment,
which lets the operator quickly raise or lower the cutting height
from 1.5” to 5.5” without getting off the mower. The
new machines also have cooling fans on the pumps for more effective
hydro cooling.
Decks, made of 7 ga. steel, are deeper (6”); wheels are
larger; and fuel capacity is greater, making the new mower ideal
for sports fields. Operating from a standing position allows the
use legs to ride changing terrain, taking stress off the back.
The Stander ZK offers all the benefits of Wright’s traditional
Stander, including low center of gravity and large wheels for
hillside stability, as well as shorter overall length for added
maneuverability.
With no seat, seat belts or armrests, the operator can just step
off the spring suspended stand-on platform to pick up debris or
in case of emergency. The Stander ZK carries a 2 year limited
warranty on parts and labor.

Lastec’s
100" Articulating Mower
Lastec
is the mowing manufacturer that introduced the first articulating
rotary mowers for uneven terrain in 1990. Known as the “Articulator,”
the company’s new 100” Articulator is the next revolution.
This wide-area unit is designed for high production in extreme
contours and features five 21” articulating decks that follow
the shape of the ground in order to deliver a precise cut. It
features a diesel engine with up to 36 HP and has a side reach
of more than 20” to reach under obstacles or allow trimming
closer to ponds, banks or ditches. The other distinguishing feature
is that the outside wing decks fold hydraulically. With a quick
throw of a lever from the driver’s seat, the deck is reduced
to 78” wide, making it easy to pass through gates or narrow
passageways, and load onto a trailer.

Ventrac
MJ840 Contour Mower
The
new Ventrac MJ840 contour mower by Venture Products, Inc. will
give rough areas a finished and manicured look. The MJ840 is designed
to cut uneven ground, green surrounds and other similar areas.
The front mount, 3 deck wing system has 4 front flat-free tires
and 3 full rear rollers, and is capable of 40° motion. The
wing system allows the operator to follow the contour of the land
more closely for a smoother overall cut, as each cutting unit
is able to move independently of the other units. Front rollers
are used for anti-scalping and full rear rollers for even cutting
and striping. Cutting width is 84” and cutting height is
_ to 3 _”with 12 cutting positions. The MJ840 mower deck
is built with the flip-up deck design for easy cleaning, servicing
and storage. The MJ840 attaches using Ventrac’s unique Minute
Mount system, allowing one person to add, remove or change attachments
in about a minute or less, with no tools or heavy lifting.
