| The Stihl
iCademy program was developed to help dealers improve
their business, and it has become an integral tool,
enabling employees to access first class training while
limiting travel, conserving time and minimizing expense.
To date, more than 365,000 dealer tests have been taken
by employees in over 4,000 dealerships. With more than
34 training modules up and running (and more to come),
the training site has become a cost-effective training
leader in the industry.
As part of its continuing commitment to education,
Stihl recently opened the highly successful dealer training
program to vocational education programs. Students can
learn about certain components of repair on a Stihl
product, find out how to effectively merchandise a retail
selling area, or learn proven techniques in sales and
customer service. They can then test themselves to see
if they have absorbed the knowledge well enough to make
repairs in the shop or to interact with customers. Instructors
can monitor progress, allowing them to identify students
that require specific assistance. This fall, Stihl iCademy
is launching a new and improved system that includes
customization features, which track the course in progress
and will recommend additional courses to take. The new
system will also provide reporting for dealers to monitor
and track progress of their employees, as well as feature
more interactive training, complimented by video training
modules.
